What does it mean for a child to grow up in temporary accommodation? Families face unsafe, overcrowded housing, with no guarantee of safe sleep or basic safeguarding. Children’s health and development suffer as a result. This panel explores why the Decent Homes Standard must apply to temporary housing and how safeguarding frameworks can be strengthened. We’ll discuss how temporary accommodation is not only a housing issue, but a public health and safeguarding emergency.
