Social rent at scale: Closing the funding gap
The ambition to deliver tens of thousands of new social rent homes each year is widely supported, yet the scale of subsidy required is far beyond current allocations. This session will explore what a realistic funding settlement might look like and how it could be achieved. Panellists will examine the potential role of government grant, innovative financing, land policy, and cross-sector partnerships in bridging the gap. The discussion will draw on lessons from high-demand urban areas and consider how to make delivery viable across different markets.
