How do we make retrofit aspirational: learning from successful resident engagement programmes
One of the biggest challenges faced by housing providers in their decarbonisation journey is the high refusal rates from tenants and residents for home interventions. This session will look at examples of resident engagement programmes that have been successful in providing smart, safe and cosy homes - including real life case studies of interventions, with learnings to take back to your own organisations. Our expert panel will cover:
• Do we need to rethink the term ‘retrofit’ and reframe our language around home upgrade work?
• What additional support should we provide to older customers and those with complex needs to ensure all residents can operate their homes in the most efficient way?
• What have we learnt to date from resident engagement within government funded projects to take into Wave 3?
• Taking forward outcomes from citizens assemblies – engagement work with the wider public to achieve successful retrofit at scale.
