As a part of Cebr’s macroeconomics team, Kay regularly contributes to Cebr’s members service, The Prospects Service, where he provides commentary on current economic events. He is the lead author of Cebr’s monthly housing forecasting report.
Kay is also a key author and analyst for bespoke research on a variety of topics. His recent projects include an analysis of the economic contribution of the social housing sector to London’s economy for Peabody, a review of the Buy-to-let sector for Shawbrook Bank and research around interest-only mortgages for Legal and General. Further fields of his research include intergenerational and regional trends in wealth accumulation in the UK.
After graduating among the top 10% of his class from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Kay worked in the private sector department at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC. Before coming to Cebr, Kay completed an MSc in Economic Policy from UCL where he specialised in the application of empirical methods and development economics.
