The construction industry, in particular the housing sector is sitting squarely under the microscope and the sector’s reputation in relation to quality has been severely dented. This session begins by looking at the barriers to achieving quality in the lifecycle of a built product; what needs to change, what options are available to us and the role that each participant in the process should play.
We will look at the briefing process, understanding quality and value, the use of modern and innovative technologies, procurement and treatment of risk, on site supervision and post completion management, including FM and closing the loop.
Beginning by identifying the cause, we will take a look at the actual symptoms – with live examples – then consider potential remedies and the medicine to be taken.
